If it is like finding a needle in a hay stack then search for that needle. When I did match I would carve out an hour or two at a time and search every profile in a smaller age bracket. At that time I was 32. I would search everyone in my criteria between the ages of 32-34. That might take an hour and then when I had more time I would search 35-37.Once I covered my range which was 27-37 my searching by age regimen was complete. After that was done I would log in daily and simply search newest profiles.  This ensured I wasn’t missing any potential match.

When you create a search match will always sort by “Match Picks”. This is the default selection for those who don’t think to change it. If you select “Newest First” you will see anyone that has joined since you did the rigorous age bracket searching.

It doesn’t stop at searching profile. Now you have to send a message. Something quick, fun and open ended is best. We don’t need a formal letter here. You don’t need to say something like…”I think we have a lot in common and we might be a good match”. That is so generic and boring. Instead look for something in their profile that is interesting. If they mention football you can just say…”Patriots fan?”. This is so tempting for a football fan to respond to. They don’t have to waste time thinking of a creative conversation starter as this will come more natural. Many mention favorite foods or Netflix series. You can ask them if they have tried a restaurant that offers that food or if they have seen a netflix series that might interest them. All of these options create a more natural, fun conversation.

The question is how badly do you want to find your match? I fully admit when I was online dating my son was under 2 and I wanted to have a partner to go through life with. I was on match for about 3 months (13 dates to be exact) before I met my husband. We married, had a second child and have been together for almost 18 years. Not everyone wants the same thing but it is up to you to figure out what you want and then get out there and make it happen.
